Thanks to the BMMB's new ignore function, I have nothing to complain about here...

Hman just dissed something for promoting an agenda. And he's a Mormon.

I'll just let that sink in.

1. Reply to this post, and I will pick six of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.

Which I guess only works if you have more than six icons... Anyways, here are my six as chosen by [info]ruby_stevens:

Ah, yes, Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends. The way Iceman and Firestar used to transform was always pretty silly. I saw this little spoofy strip somewhere (I forget exactly) and turned it into a .gif because I liked the exasperation in Spider-Man's expression. "Oh boy, I'm stuck with these yahoos?"

I happened across some website with pictures of this nature, the kind of thing that makes me laugh in spite of myself, so I turned them into icons. I especially like the one about the dog - every time I see a 'beware of the dog' sign (as I did just today), I say it. Much to the annoyance of others.

This is a sceengrab from one of Jan's beloved old Jimmy Stewart movies, I think it's the original Shop Around the Corner though I may be wrong. For one glorious moment, it looked like Jimmy was going to bust out some kung fu. And the thought of James Stewart kicking the crap out of superkicker Hwang Jang Lee is too delicious to ignore.

I love this pic (which I freely admit I nicked from somebody else). If Her Maj isn't driving the Range Rover around Sandringham putting caps in the asses of chavs, she should be.

So I seem to have picked up a rotten cough from the stupid twat of an engineer who came in the office yesterday and hacked over everyone, despite sounding like he had tuberculosis. Wanker.

And then there's my noisy neighbour, who despite his age and perpetual diet of takeaway junk food, chain-smoking, alcoholism and cocaine abuse, selfishly refuses to drop dead.

Even if I get a standalone or internal Blu-Ray drive, my PC will not support HD playback (graphics card, CPU and assorted other things are all too old and crusty).

Probably the best bet therefore is to get an Amex BD drive for my MacBook, which will probably allow for the Skyping of most things not put out by Fox.

Damn region-unlockable Macs!!

Well, it's that unwelcome time when all the vacation days are used up, the hotel is checked out of and nothing remains but to go home. So after a drive to the airport with an affable-but-paranoid Vietnam vet cabbie who tried to explain to us why Timothy McVeigh was right, we're in the Virgin Clubhouse awaiting the 747 that will fly us from fun and friends to work and a credit card bill the size of the Death Star.

It was fun while it lasted though; we had a great time. The highlight was undoubtedly B-Fest, and (Hallmark card moment) I'll treasure the memories of my first time. Meeting all of you guys was awesome, and I'm only sorry it will probably be a number of years before I make it to another one. Future vacation plans may be organised to visit places where a side-trip to Maine, the other London etc. is not out of the question. And if any of you are going to be in London or Birmingham, let me know. We'll do something.

Aaaaand now I'm back home (flight was called mid-post), ex-friggin-hausted, but happy. Here are some pictures from our adventure.

Sorry for the lack of updates - SF has been something of a whirlwind of activity, all fun. Friday I described arriving, and going for mussels at Plouf. I forgot to mention walking around Chinatown and seeing an old guy playing an erhu (Chinese fiddle) on the street corner. Then we passed a tacky gift shop with a large 'stone' Buddha head in the window, just waiting for Tony Jaa to show up and kill everyone in the store. Yep, SF is all kinds of awesome.

Cartoons! Dinner! )
